Certified Nanotechnology & Clean Technology Professional
An Intensive 6-Week Course in San Jose


The Certified Nanotechnology & Clean Technology Professional Program will be offered on May 19, 2008 to June 27, 2008 in San Jose.

This intensive program is designed to train the participants for professional jobs with an opportunity for advancement in the high growth industries of nanotechnology and clean technology. The accelerated classroom/lab training courses will equip you to enter into the emerging nanotech and clean tech industries. Classes will be on Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM-5:30 PM for 6 weeks. Students will be expected to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through problem solving, group discussions, and project development.

In addition to classroom learning and group project research assignment, students are expected to participate in industry seminars which will be held on Thursdays at 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM and the third Tuesdays from 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM.

Contact hours: a total of 145 hours (120 hours of classroom learning with 16 hour of industry seminar contact hours, plus 9 hours of lab work on learning how to use a Scanning Electron Microscope)

Prerequisite: a 4 year degree (Bachelor of Art, Sciences or Engineering) or equivalent with at least 3 years of working experience.

The Clean Tech Institute in partnership with the California Institute of Nanotechnology, has launched a Clean Tech California Initiative aimed at fostering the innovation and development of clean technologies, addressing workforce needs for high growth, high demand job training in California, and creating a consortium of public and private organizations to promote the affordability of clean technologies.

An overview of the Institute's intensive six-week training program in clean tech and nanotech will be presented immediately following the lunchtime forum. Networking

Our NanoLunch Seminar series is held every Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and feature presentations, open discussions and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
