Clean Tech is an emerging sector that comprises a diverse range of products, services, and processes that harnesses renewable materials and energy sources. These include such innovative and expanding technologies as solar photovoltaics (PV), wind power, hybrid electric vehicles, fuel cells, bio-based materials, and advanced water filtration.

In alignment with the State of California’s Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, Clean Tech Institute focuses on workforce training to prepare a highly skilled workforce for the emerging high growth clean tech industry.

Clean Tech Institute plans to set up a California Renewable Energy Training Center to prepare an effective and productive workforce for the emerging high growth clean tech industry in underserved communities. The initiative is undergirded by a strategic alliance of industry corporations, universities, community colleges, unified school districts, city mayors, economic development agencies, workforce investment boards, regional occupational centers, and other non-profit organizations.
