Alexei Andreev, Ph.D
Executive Vice President/Managing Director
Harris & Harris Group Inc. |
Prior to joining Harris & Harris Group, Mr. Andreev was an
associate with Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a venture capital firm,
where he was exclusively focused on nanotechnology and material
science investment opportunities. While at DFJ, he played an
integral role in sourcing and funding of Solicore, D-Wave
Systems, Intematix and EoPlex, where he served as an active
Board Director or Observer. Previously, he worked for TLcom
Capital Partners, a London-based venture capital fund backed by
Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he was employed by Renaissance
Capital Group/Sputnik Funds, a venture capital fund in Moscow,
Russia. Before he started his business career, Mr. Andreev was a
researcher at the Centre of Nanotechnology, ISAN (RAS), in
Troitsk, Russia where he was focused on optical and electrical
properties of Quantum Dot heterostructures in strong magnetic
fields. Mr. Andreev received his Ph.D. degree from the
Department of Theoretical Physics of Moscow Steel and Alloys
Institute led by Alexei A. Abrikosov (recipient of the Nobel
Prize in Physics 2003), where he was a recipient of the
Scholorship for Outstanding Young Scientists of Russian Academia
of Sciences, the Scholarship from the International Center of
Fundamental Physics and Soros Scientific Foundation. Mr. Andreev
also received a B.S. with honors in Engineering/Material
Sciences from Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute and with an
M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a
director of the American Business Association of Russian
Expatriates.

Annette Finsterbusch

Annette Finsterbusch is
a director for Applied Ventures in the Corporate Business
Development group of Applied Materials since 2004, responsible
for identifying, recommending and managing venture capital
investments. She is also a Kauffman Fellow.
Prior to joining Applied Materials, Ms. Finsterbusch was the CEO
at MindShadow.com, a technology spin-out of DaimlerChrysler's
Research and Technology Center. Prior to that position, Ms.
Finsterbusch was an investment manager for DaimlerChrysler
Venture Capital since 2001, responsible for enterprise software
investments. Ms. Finsterbusch also had previously worked for
Applied Materials, leading its business development efforts in
Russia, Belarus and Armenia from 1996 through 2000, chartering
the company's first office in Moscow.
Ms. Finsterbusch's philanthropic directorships include seats on
both the Board of Directors for the Junior League of San Jose
and the Exception Women Executives of San Jose State University.
Ms. Finsterbusch received a Bachelor of Science in economics and
geology from the University of Houston and a Master's in
Business Administration in Strategy and Finance from San Jose
State University, where she was honored with the Graduate of the
Last Decade (GOLD) Award in 2004.

Ricardo Angel
Senior Vice President
GE Energy Financial Services |
Ricardo Angel is a
Senior Vice President who leads GE Energy Financial Services'
West Coast venture capital investment origination. GE Energy
Financial Services, GE's energy investing unit, makes $50
million in energy- and water-related venture capital investments
annually.
Based in San Francisco, Mr. Angel joined GE Energy Financial
Services from ChevronTexaco Technology Ventures, where he
originated and executed Energy and Cleantech venture capital
investments. He previously worked in investment banking at
Goldman Sachs and as a technology consultant with CNA
Corporation. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's
Kellogg School and Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in
Engineering from the University of Illinois.

Neal Dikeman

Neal is a Founding
Partner of Jane Capital Partners. Formerly, Neal was a Director
of Business Development at Globalgate, an e-commerce holding
company, and an Associate at Doyle & Boissiere LLC, a private
equity firm backed by CalPers. Neal has extensive experience
with distressed and special situation transactions and
financings. He has been involved in the acquisition and
oversight of several businesses in the technology, aerospace,
semiconductor, and manufacturing sectors. Neal began his career
with the energy group of Bankers Trust, working on M&A,
financing, and distressed situations in the oil & gas and energy
service sectors. He holds a B.A from Texas A&M. Neal serves on
the boards of Carbonflow, Inc. and Waiterpad POS Systems.

Abe Yokell
Senior Associate

Abe Yokell is a Senior Associate at RockPort Capital Partners.
Mr. Yokell rejoined the RockPort team in February 2004 after a
summer internship and has helped to establish RockPort’s Menlo
Park office, where he is based. He is actively engaged in all
aspects of RockPort’s diligence process including research,
financial and technical analysis, intellectual property
evaluation, and structuring. Mr. Yokell is also a member of the
Screening Committee and assists in portfolio company monitoring
activities which include work with ISE Corporation, Hycrete,
Inc., and HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc., among others.
Prior to joining RockPort, Mr. Yokell worked as an Analyst at
Analysis Group, Inc., an economic and management consultancy
where his activities included designing and implementing
transfer pricing and valuation analyses used for corporate
planning purposes, regulatory compliance, and litigation
support. Mr. Yokell was also a Business Development intern at a
venture-backed biotechnology company working to commercialize
advanced aptamer-based diagnostic arrays.
Mr. Yokell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where
he studied Economics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Nancy Pfund
Managing Partner

Nancy is a Managing Partner of DBL Investors.
In addition to clean tech and general technology investing, her
areas of investment interest include educational and
environmental technology and the links between community
development and venture capital. Previously, Ms. Pfund was a
Managing Director at JPMorgan. Ms. Pfund joined JPMorgan in 1985
as a securities analyst and later joined its venture capital
department as Principal in 1989. In addition to her private
equity responsibilities, Ms. Pfund previously directed
JPMorgan's external affairs and philanthropic programs. She has
sponsored numerous private equity investments while at JPMorgan,
such as Molecular Dynamics, Promega, InfoSpace, and Odwalla, and
currently serves on the boards of directors of Elephant
Pharmacy, SolarCity, SERA Learning Technologies and VisionRx.
In 1988, Ms. Pfund was appointed by President Bush as a charter
member of the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy
and Technology. In 1999, Ms. Pfund was appointed by President
Clinton to serve on the Congressional Web-Based Education
Commission, which issued its report in the winter of 2000. She
is also a member of the advisory board for the Yale University
School of Management International Center for Finance. Prior to
joining JPMorgan, Ms. Pfund worked at Intel Corporation,
Stanford University, and the Sierra Club. Ms. Pfund received her
B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Stanford University, and her
M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.

Randy Lewis

John Randall (Randy) Lewis is a partner in
the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Randy has extensive experience in many areas of corporate and
securities law, including public offerings, corporate
governance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital and
private equity financings. With a particular concentration in
the clean technology and renewable energy field, his practice
focuses on the corporate representation of technology and other
growth companies, ranging from start-ups to large public
corporations.
Randy began his career in the firm's Palo Alto, California,
office. In addition to his tenure at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich &
Rosati, he also had served as assistant general counsel and
director of business development of CarsDirect.com. Prior to
attending law school, Randy worked at GE Capital and Wells Fargo
Bank.
